who we are.
Originating from the foggy and romantic San Francisco Bay Area, Blue Hour Duo consists of vocalist and arranger/composer, Lillian Yee, and 7-string guitarist, Ron Songco. Together, they weave a tapestry of their favorite music from all over the world from the waters of Antonio Carlos Jobim to the deep cuts of Ella Fitzgerald and across the ocean to Japan's Pizzicato Five. As the duo enjoys serenading from mostly vocal and guitar Brazilian and American standards, they often invite their friends from the greater Bay Area Brazilian music community to perform and participate in the collective appreciation of Brazil’s marvelous culture. From Bossa Nova & tunes from the Great American Songbook to samba & choro, Blue Hour Duo spins a web of enchanting rhythms and beautiful melodies for the weary listener who dreamily sits through the lilting afternoon or falling hours of dusk.

Naturally, we also showcase melodies from the illustrious Great American Songbook, alongside other captivating international standards and enjoy presenting our very own “blue hour” or “dawn/dusk-like” spin on classics bringing charm to a lulling afternoon or warmth to an intimate evening.
